1943 – 2026
Robert John William Amos, known to everyone as Pete, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital in Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, NB.
Born in McNairn Settlement, he was the son of the late Ralph and Flossie (Cameron) Amos.
Pete was a farmer who was born, raised, and lived his entire life on the farm. When he wasn’t farming, he could often be found reading, watching westerns or puttering about the farm. In his later years he would often announce that he was going to check on the cattle, only to be found napping in his truck somewhere on the farm. Pete loved a good joke and was well liked by all who knew him.
He leaves behind his sisters, Jean Pollock and her husband Tom, of Selkirk, Manitoba; Barbara Amos and her husband, Neil Gardner, of McNairn Settlement; Marion Amos, of Ottawa, ON and Judith Amos, of Springhill, NS; his brother, Donald Amos, of Saint-Marie-de-Kent; and several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Besides his parents, Pete was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth, and brothers, Richard and Michael.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 15th, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Fergusons Riverview Community Chapel, 214 Pine Glen Rd., Riverview, NB (506-857-9544), with a reception to follow in the Funeral Home Reception Centre.
