Norman Roy

1940 – 2026
Cocagne, NB – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Norman Roy, age 85, on May 5th, 2026, at Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton, NB, peacefully surrounded by the love of his family. He was the beloved husband of Marguerita “Marge” Roy, with whom he shared many cherished years of marriage.

Born in Cocagne, NB, he was the son of the late Robert Roy and Emilia Roy (Després).

Norman worked proudly for many years as a finish carpenter, a trade that reflected his patience, creativity, and remarkable eye for detail. He took great pride in his work and was known for his perfectionism and artistic touch in everything he created.

A true outdoorsman at heart, He loved fishing, hunting, camping, and traveling. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures — listening to classic country and Acadian music, attending music festivals, and sharing stories and laughter with those he loved. He also had a special soft spot for animals. Norman’s greatest pride and happiness was his family. He treasured every moment spent with his grand/great-grandchildren, who brought endless joy to his life. Whether it was sharing jokes, telling stories, offering advice, or simply enjoying time together.

He will be remembered for his warm heart, playful sense of humor, stubborn determination, and the love he gave so freely to his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marguerita “Marge” Roy; his two daughters: Diane LeBlanc (Larry) of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent and Denise Roy (Marc) of Saint-Antoine; his cherished grandchildren: Julie LeBlanc (Louis) of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent and Rémi LeBlanc (Amy) of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent; and his adored great-grandchildren: Jasmine, Ellie, and Louis, who brought immense pride and happiness to his life. He is also survived by his sister, Jacqueline McLaughlin (Laurent) of Shediac Bridge.

Besides his parents, Norman was predeceased by his sister, Rita Daigle.

He leaves behind a lifetime of treasured memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
