Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, NB – It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of Elmo LeBlanc, (Acadian fiddler), at Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital, at the age of 71, on May 6th, 2026.

Born in Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, he was the son of the late Johnny and the late Eva (Chiasson) LeBlanc.

Elmo will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 50 years, Hélène (Arsenault) LeBlanc; his son, Mathieu; his sisters: Ginette Hébert (Donald) and Georgette LeBlanc; his brother, Jean-Claude LeBlanc (Lucille); his sister-in-law, Zita. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law and brothers-in-law: Jeannette (Abel), Emile, Albert (Lucille), and Alvin (Annette); his godson, Serge; as well as many uncles, aunts, nephews, and nieces.

He has gone to join his father, Johnny; his mother, Eva; his parents-in-law: Eymard and Louise; his brother, Arsène; and his sisters-in-law: Odette and Carmen.

Elmo loved playing the fiddle. He won first prize in the Open Class at the Maritime Fiddle Contest and several other first prizes in other competitions. Elmo will remain in the memory of all who knew him.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Stella-Maris Hospital, who became like a small family to him. A special thank you to the Extra-Mural staff for the excellent care they provided Elmo, and to Lisa Caissie and Rachelle Caissie for their help at home.

Visitation will be held at the Sainte-Anne-de-Kent Church, on Monday, May 11th, 2026, from 4 pm to 6:45 pm, followed by the funeral mass at 7:00 pm.
