John-Paul Pantaleo

1964 – 2026

With broken hearts, we share that John Paul Pantaleo, 61, originally of Toronto, and most recently of Grand-Barachois, New Brunswick, passed away on April 12, 2026.

John Paul was the beloved husband of Tammy  and a proud and devoted father of Brittany (Charlie). He is also survived by his sister, Margaret Mary (Frank) Pereira; mother-in-law, Ella Wells; sister-in-laws Claudine (Sandy) Wells and Rochelle (Wallace) Saunders; brother-in-law Dale Wells; and a loving uncle to Candice, Corey, Devon, Jordan, Taylor and Ethan; as well as great uncle to Dylan, Madelynn, Nolan, Mia, Cade and Linne.

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Patricia (McKenty) Pantaleo; father-in-law, Claude Wells; grandparents Margaret and Luigi Pantaleo, and George and Mary McKenty.

An avid fisherman and outdoorsman, John Paul found his greatest joy on the water, whether out in his boat or spending time at the cottage. He was rarely idle and had a remarkable ability to excel at any project that he set his mind to, taking great pride in everything, he did, whether at home, in the yard, or at the cottage.

John Paul had a vibrant personality and a natural gift for storytelling . He brought energy and humour to every gathering and was always finding new ways to enjoy life to the fullest. He had a deep love for sports and was a devoted fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, proudly cheering them on through every season with unwavering loyalty and hope. Win or lose, he remained a true fan, always believing the next game would be their game. Sharing that passion with family and friends brought him great joy and created many cherished memories.

John Paul shared a special and lifelong bond with his younger sister, Margaret, always caring for her with the protective love only a big brother can give. To him, she was always his baby sister—someone he cherished deeply, looked out for, and held close to his heart through every stage of life. Likewise, his connection with his mother-in-law, Ella, was one of reciprocal love and respect. There were many telephone calls and face to face chats over the years that provided ongoing inspiration for both.

Above all, John Paul was a dedicated family man. His wife and daughter were the centre of his world, and he was a deeply caring and supportive father who always put his family first. He travelled life’s road with Tammy, sharing life’s special moments and finding his greatest happiness by her side. The bond they shared was one of deep devotion, laughter and unforgettable memories. He treasured every moment spent with his daughter, Brittany, his pride and joy. Whether attending concerts or musicals, cheering on their favourite sports teams or any other father-daughter activity, the experience was always one of absolute enjoyment. When Brittany found her life’s partner, John Paul welcomed his son-in-law, Charlie, as one of his own and was proud to have him as part of the family. He was looking forward to the arrival of his new grandson, due in October, a blessing he spoke of with great love and anticipation.

Living a life of faith, sharing loving kindness, and being a source of comfort and encouragement to others speaks of a life well lived. Loving his nieces and nephews and taking time out of his day to show them how much he cared attests to the awesome relationship that they shared with their ‘special’ uncle.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. The measure of our grief will be as great as the measure of our love!!

Rest in Peace, dear John Paul!
