Sheila Boissonneault

1942~2026

Sheila Boissonneault passed away peacefully at The Veterans Nursing Home in Moncton, NB, on April 12, 2026, at the age of 82.

Born on November 19, 1942, in the town of Kentville, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Phyllis Jones (Thurber) of Weymouth North, Nova Scotia.

She survived by her husband of 63 years, Pierre Boissonneault; their children, Daniel and Lisa Crowe (Barry); three grandchildren, Macayla, Natalie and Brayden (Rebecca); and a great-grandchild, Roman.

She is also survived by her brother Earl Jones (Diane) and Patricia Hewitt, as well as nieces and nephews.

Sheila lived life to the fullest. She was an accomplished artist who loved to paint stunning scenes for family and friends, even commissioning a painting as a departure gift for an outgoing Commanding Officer of a Royal Canadian Artillery Regiment. She loved music and, from 1967–69, was a radio host at a small station at a radar base in Quebec.

She loved to cook for others and was also a very skilled seamstress, making clothing for her children and grandchildren. She learned to play guitar and enjoyed playing whenever she could.

Her grandfather, Sydney Thurber, had an Indian Scout motorcycle, and that passion carried through the family. Both of her children had motorcycles, and when her son Dan upgraded, he passed his previous bike on to his parents, sparking their own love for riding. Pierre later owned a Goldwing, and they travelled together. Sheila soon wanted to ride her own motorcycle, obtained her license, and eventually rode a Honda 750 Shadow, which she loved and rode everywhere.

A devoted Christian, Sheila and her husband Pierre served together for over 20 years with the Christian Motorcyclist Association, travelling across Canada and the United States sharing the message of Jesus.

They were also snowbirds and spent many winters down south until her health no longer permitted it.

To commemorate Sheila’s life, a Celebration of Life will be held at 65 War Veterans Avenue, Moncton, on April 30, 2026, at 10:00 am.
