Moncton, NB- It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Fernande Gallant, aged 89, on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the Villa du Repos Nursing Home, Moncton, NB.
Born in Saint-Louis de Kent, NB, on June 17, 1936, she was predeceased by her husband Yvon Gallant and her parents Amédée Maillet and Bertha Robichaud. She will be sadly missed by her daughters Lisette (late Paul Gionet), Francine (Eric Arsenault), Claudette (Peter Babin), and her son Donny (Tammy Davis-Gallant). Fernande also leaves behind grandchildren Mireille, Jean-Jacques, Kathleen, Scott, Karyse, Chloé, Sophie, Lexie and Sarah.
In addition to her parents, Fernande was predeceased by her siblings: Lorette, Andréa, Juliette, Evangeline, Irma and Ulric.
Fernande was a customs agent prior to taking her retirement. She will be remembered as a generous and kind-hearted woman who loved gardening, doing arts and crafts and spending the Summers at her cottage in Pointe-du-Chêne taking walks along the beach.
In memory of Fernande, donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of the Villa du Repos for the care and compassion shown to Fernande during her stay.
Visitation will be held at Passage/Chartersville Funeral Home, Dieppe, NB, on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service in the chapel.
