Over 7000 people have been evacuated from Southern and central British Columbia as wildfires have taken control.

Hot, dry conditions are keeping forest fires burning, so far over 230 square kilometres have been destroyed.

The BC Wildfire service says 227 wildfires are currently burning.

The Canadian Red Cross is offering assistance to the region, as urgent support is needed for the families there.
