UPDATE: One Man In Hospital With Life Threatening Injuries After Accident On Trans Canada Highway

An accident on the Trans Canada highway near the Elmwood exit has left one man in hospital.

More details have been released by South East District RCMP today about the accident.

A 58-year old man from Petit Rocher is being treated for life threatening injuries in hospital.

Corporal Chantal Ouellete says the man was struck by a transport truck while walking down the side of the highway yesterday afternoon shortly before 5.

Ouellette says the investigation is ongoing, but so far no charges have been laid – although that may change.

The truck driver was not injured.
