There are concerns being raised about the sports fields at the new Moncton High.
The new facility will only have two practice fields, and no third field at a varsity level.
Chairperson for the Parent School Support Committee Anne-Marie Piccone Ford says as it stands right now, the students will have to travel for all of their games.
“We have two fields that are practice fields. We want to have that third field ready to go so that our students are going to be able to practice and have proper games there, because at this point, we won’t be able to play any games there.”
Piccone Ford says she just wants to see the province give the same money that they gave for Bernice MacNaughton and for Harrison Trimble, and then they will partner with the city, and raise funds to be able to get the remainder to enable them to have a proper varsity field.
The new Moncton High is expected to open in January of next year.
