It was a long day in lockdown for Saint John MP Rodney Weston.
Weston tells us the gunfire broke out at the beginning of their caucus meeting.
He says he heard the shots and asked himself if he could really be hearing gunfire.
He says it was amazing to see people running towards the danger when your natural instinct is to run away from it.
It was almost 11pm our time when Weston got back to his Ottawa apartment and was able to call home.
