Some people were caught by surprise yesterday, with the whiteout conditions and heavy snow.
The snow began falling yesterday morning, and quickly picked up. It began accumulating on roadways, and caused havoc for drivers.
Many vehicles got stuck on roadways, due to icy conditions underneath the snow.
Many businesses and other organizations closed early due to the conditions.
A snowfall advisory was issued at around 2pm yesterday afternoon.
According to Environment Canada, over 15 centimetres fell at the Greater Moncton Romeo Leblanc International Airport.

That snowfall advisory ended at around 4:15 this morning, and another one was issued at 5am, for yet another system that is expected to bring up to 20 centimetres to our region.
Chief Supervisor at the Atlantic Storm Prediction Centre Doug Mercer says high wind gusts are expected as well.
“The winds are going to get brisk tonight, gusting up to 50 kilometres an hour. That is not reaching warning criteria, but it is enough to give you some blowing snow over exposed areas,” Mercer says.
Snow is expected to begin falling this afternoon and will continue falling into tomorrow night.
In Kent County and Kouchibouguac, winter storm warnings have been issued with hazardous conditions expected.
Mercer adds they have their eye on another system for next week.
“It is coming from the Eastern Seaboard and will arrive overnight into Tuesday. It may start as rain, but then change to snow, and bring strong winds as well. That will continue for a few days.”
There’s no word yet on how much snow next week’s system will bring.
