Codiac RCMP are providing an update on a scam which has been targeting NB Power customers.
Mounties say complainants have received calls from a man with a foreign accent who asks to inspect the homeowner’s hot water tank, furnace or air conditioning unit on behalf of NB Power.
In one incident, a homeowner booked an appointment and two men in their late 20’s, believed to be of East Indian descent, arrived in a grey Kia Soul.
The two men were denied entry to the home.
If you have received a similar call, you’re asked to contact police or the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501.
