Six New Athletes To Be Inducted Into New Brunswick Sports Hall Of Fame

Six new members will be inducted into the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame on June 4th.

Runner Patty Blanchard of Moncton holds six provincial running records and seven Canadian Masters records.

David Foley of Saint John is a former professional soccer player who played with the Winnipeg Fury Soccer Club. He was the franchise’s leading goal scorer when he retired in 1991.

Kevin Foran of Dalhousie became the leading scorer in Canadian Interuniversity Athletic Union hockey history in 1983 while playing for Mount Allison, a record he still holds.

Darren Ritchie of Saint John was the first and only Maritimer to win the Canadian Amateur Golf Championship in 1992. His victory was even more impressive after being diagnosed with melanoma three months prior to competing.

Bernard DeGrace became the first New Brunswicker and Acadian referee/linesman in the National Hockey League, officiating 350 NHL games from 1989 to 2002.

Eldridge Eatman from Saint John was one of New Brunswick’s greatest sprinters in the early 1900’s.
