Premier Brian Gallant is pitching the idea that New Brunswick and Fredericton in particular, can develop a niche industry in cybersecurity.
That message was delivered to the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce.Fredericton will be losing well paying jobs in the civil service because of the Strategic Program Review.
The Premier has tried to sell New Brunswick as a cybersecurity centre of excellence at conferences and with leaders in the industry.
He did so most recently in San Francisco, with the claim the estimated annual cost from cybersecurity breaches around the world is between $400 billion and $500 billion and getting larger every day.
