Official Languages Commissioner Concerned About E-M-S

The Official Languages Commissioner is speaking out on the plan to transfer management of the Extra-Mural Program and Tele-Care to Medavie E-M-S, saying she is concerned.

Katherine d”Entremont claims these companies lack concrete steps to ensure their obligations on serving people on both official languages are met.

She points to Ambulance NB as an example. After nearly a decade, Ambulance NB acknowledges it has less than half of the bilingual employees it needs to serve people in both official languages because no effective plan has been put in place.

D’Entremont is claiming there’s a lack of audit measures to ensure compliance.
