Stuart Anthony Carleton

December 8, 1965  –  July 28, 2026

Stuart Anthony Carleton, age 60, of Moncton, New Brunswick, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026, surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with illness.

Stuart was born on December 8, 1965, in Moncton to Harold and Mary Jane (Jean) Carleton. He attended Bernice MacNaughton High School before studying Culinary Arts at NBCC St. Andrews. Stuart began his career as a cook which is where he met his wife Heather (Lutes) Carleton. Over the years, he transitioned through various careers to remain flexible for his family’s needs – a testament to his deep devotion and commendable work ethic.

Known for his charm, quick wit, and generous spirit, Stuart was deeply passionate about cooking for those he loved, enjoying the outdoors, and above all, being a father to his daughters. He could often be found listening to country music, tending to his plants, and chatting with neighbours on the patio during the summer. Come winter, he would be out snowplowing those same neighbours’ driveways. Stuart was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back if it meant helping someone in need. Some of his family’s fondest childhood memories were made camping and hiking together. In celebration of their 22nd anniversary, Stuart and Heather hiked Mount Carleton in Saint-Quentin, NB, creating a memory she will cherish forever.

Stuart will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Heather Carleton (Lutes); his children, Samantha (Ryan), Madison (Nick), and Cierra (Riley); and his cherished grandson, Ohlin. He is also survived by his siblings, Faye Sweezey, Robert “Bob” Carleton (Sharon), and Brenda Longphee (Reg); his nephews, Jacob (Lisa), Kris (Janet) and Vincent; his nieces, Brooke (Nick), Kristyna, and Vic (Mathew); his great-nephews, Ben, Liam, and Cortland; his great-niece, Anna; as well as many dear friends and former co-workers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Jean Carleton; his sister, Mary Garner; his brother-in-law, Jack Sweezey; and his nephews, Michael Carleton and Nickel McDaniel.

Fergusons Funeral Home & Fergusons Crematorium, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton, NB (506-858-1995) in care of arrangements.

A celebration of Stuart’s life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of formal arrangements or flowers, the family requests that you spend time talking to your loved ones about the importance of consuming responsibly, prioritizing mental health, and practicing self-love.
