1948 – 2026
Moncton, NB – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Reg Richard, 78, on Wednesday, July 29th, 2026, at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Richibucto, NB, on July 9th, 1948, he was the son of the late Joseph O. and Aurelie (Robichaud) Richard.
Reg moved to Dieppe in 1954 and worked at CN until his retirement. He was actively involved with the Canadian Legion and had been President of the Bouctouche Legion.
He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Jennifer (Gary); by his grandchildren: Mariah (Nathan), Natisha, Jayden; by his great granddaughter, Adaline, and by his life partner of 25 years, Rose Wells.
He is preceded by his late wife, Heather O’Brien; by his sister, Francine, and by his brother, Emerie “Frenchie”.
He is survived by siblings: Jeannine (late Ronald), Delta, Ovila (late Linda Feltis), Adrien, Gerard “Chopper” (Gloria), Noella (Blaine), Claudine (Bruce), Annette (Guy) and Audette (Jeff), and by many nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held from Passage-Chartersville, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB, (506) 857-1901, on Wednesday, August 5th, from 1 to 3:50 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life in the chapel at 4 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bouctouche Legion, Branch 43.
