Moncton, NB – With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michel Bastarache, which occurred on May 1, 2026, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton, at the age of 56.

Born in Moncton, NB, on October 17, 1969, he was the son of Murielle Jaillet (Noël Bourque) and the late Désiré Bastarache.

Michel is survived by his mother, Murielle Jaillet (Noël Bourque) of Moncton; his sister, Charlene Bastarache of Scoudouc; and his brother, Mario Bastarache of Shediac. He also leaves behind his two nieces and one nephew, Mélanie Bastarache, Danika Bastarache, and Shawn Bastarache, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In keeping with Michel’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.

Donations in Michel’s memory may be made to Harvest House or to Maison Nazareth in Moncton.
