It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Martin Léger, who passed away peacefully at the Miramichi Hospital on May 3, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Born in Saint-Damien NB, he was the son of the late Gérard Léger and the late Alvina Léger (née Cormier).

Martin enjoyed spending his time fishing and rabbit hunting, passions that brought him great peace and happiness throughout his life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Geraldine “Gerry” Watling of Miramichi; his brother, Oris Léger (Nicole) of Notre-Dame-de-Kent; and his sisters, May Saulnier (Emery) of Dieppe, Rosa Maillet (late Gérard) of Saint-Damien, and Carol Belliveau (Lenny) of Saint-Damien, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the slumber room of Saint-Antoine L’Ermite Church, 24 avenue de l’Église, Saint-Antoine, NB E4V 1M3, on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. A funeral Mass will follow at 4:00 p.m.

Donations in Martin’s memory may be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the St. Margaret’s Cemetery Fund.
