January 27, 1944 – May 14, 2026
Lloyd Erwin Trites, 82, of Lutes Mountain, New Brunswick, passed away peacefully at home on the afternoon of May 14, 2026. Born on January 27, 1944, Lloyd was the son of the late Leslie and Eldred Trites.
Lloyd built a beautiful life with his wife, Joan, with whom he shared 58 years of unwavering love and partnership. Together they raised three children — Derek Trites (Dawn), Sandra Linfield (late Russell), and Natasha Trites — and created a home filled with loyalty, laughter, and the kind of steady strength that shaped generations. Lloyd was immensely proud of his grandchildren: Dyron Trites, Ty Richard, Arista Linfield, Jade Linfield, and John Mackiewich. Each one brought him joy, purpose, and a sense of legacy that meant everything to him.
He was predeceased by his brothers Bryden Lewis and Peter Trites, and his sisters Shirley Cail and Kaye Lewis. He is survived by his sisters, Jo Ann Trites and Phyllis Stewart.
Lloyd spent 35 years with Pepsi, where he was known as a man who showed up, worked hard, and treated everyone with respect, as a strong leader. His work ethic was quiet but powerful, and the friendships he formed there lasted a lifetime.
Outside of work, Lloyd found his greatest happiness in the outdoors. He loved hunting, cutting wood, and being in the fresh air. His closest companion in those moments was his grandson Dyron — his “mini me.” The two were inseparable, sharing countless hours of teaching, teasing, arguing, laughing, and learning. Lloyd passed down not only skills with tools and a love of the woods, but a way of life rooted in pride, patience, and doing things with your own hands. Their bond was one of the great joys of his life.
Lloyd also adored his little dog, Moo, who was always by his side. Moo brought him comfort, companionship, and endless smiles, and anyone who knew Lloyd surely knew his lil’ Moo too. Moo was there right by his side until the end.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his humour, his loyalty, and the deep love he carried for his family. Lloyd lived with a big heart and a grounded presence that made people feel safe, supported, and understood. His absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but his influence lives on in the people he loved so fiercely.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
