It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother, Jeannine Roy (Guitard), 87, surrounded by her family, on Monday, April 13th, 2026, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton.
Born in Pointe-Verte on June 21st, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Émeric and the late Albina Roy (Fournier).
A woman of great heart and devotion, she dedicated her life to her family, whom she loved more than anything. Her kindness, gentleness, and wisdom left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind precious memories, woven with tenderness, laughter, and shared moments.
Mom was a person of great faith, generous, always ready to listen, help, and comfort others. Her smile and her reassuring presence will remain forever etched in our hearts.
She is survived by her children: Jean-Marc Guitard (Pierrette) of Beresford, Robert Guitard (Denise) of Shediac, Mariette Fournier, Monique Chiasson (Gerard), and Lise Comeau (Marcel), all of Moncton; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as her dear friend, Guy.
She has gone to join her parents; her grandson, Maxime; her brother, Alyre; her sister, Gisèle; and her sister-in-law, Yolande, who preceded her in peace and serenity.
We will remember her as a strong, loving, and inspiring woman.
Visitations will be held at Passage (3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge) on Friday, April 17th, 2026, from 1:00pm until time of service. A funeral service will take place in the chapel at 3:00pm.
Donations in memory of Jeannine can be made to the Centre Hébert learning center for children with autism (55 Englehart Street, Moncton).
