Janet Lewis (née Winn)

Janet Lewis passed away peacefully in Moncton, New Brunswick, on Thursday February 5, 2026.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Gene; their three children and six grandchildren: Jennifer Miller (Craig) and grandson Joel (Shelby); Kim Kennedy (Chris) and grandsons Daniel and Joshua; and Grant (Caroline) and grandchildren Meredith, Owen, and Charlotte. She is also survived by her siblings, David (Susan) and Barbara Crowder (Wayne) and extended family and friends.

Janet was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Mary Winn, and her brother, William.

Janet lived courageously with multiple sclerosis for more than 35 years. She entered Palliative Care at The Moncton Hospital on January 13, 2026, where she was lovingly cared for and surrounded by family.

Born and raised on the family farm in Stouffville Janet devoted her life to her family, her community, and the care of children. Over the years, she made her home in Pefferlaw and Brechin, Ontario and Moncton, New Brunswick.

Janet was a generous soul, and her family was her greatest treasure. Above all, she will be fondly remembered as a loving and caring mother who found her greatest joy in nurturing others and cherished time spent gathering family together, especially at Christmas.

She is loved and will be missed and lovingly remembered for her caring, generous, kind, positive, and strong spirit.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Ontario in the spring. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Fergusons Funeral Home & Fergusons Crematorium, 1657 Mountain Rd. Moncton (506-858-1995).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MS Canada or Moncton Hospital Palliative Care through the Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation.
