1957 ~ 2026
It is with heavy hearts, and deep love, that we announce the passing of Ginette Roy (née Leger), who left us on April 10, 2026, just days before her 69th birthday. Born on April 13, 1957, in Haute-Aboujagane, New Brunswick,
Ginette built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family in Cape Spear, New Brunswick.
Ginette was the beloved wife of Roger Roy and the proud matriarch of a beautifully blended family. She was a woman who made everyone feel at home the moment they walked through her door—a place where laughter was abundant, the coffee was always on, and no one ever left without a full heart, a full belly, and enough leftovers to last the week.
Known for her caring and compassionate nature, Ginette was truly a “barrel of fun.” She had a gift for bringing joy into everyday moments and a way of making people feel deeply seen and loved. A master floral designer, she expressed her creativity through stunning arrangements and thoughtful crafts, always adding her unique flair to everything she touched.
Her happiest moments were often the simplest spent in her kitchen preparing meals for those she loved, tending to her garden, hunting for treasures as a skilled thrifter, or walking the beach in search of sea glass. These quiet passions reflected a life rooted in beauty, care, and appreciation for the little things.
Ginette leaves behind her loving children: Maurice Goguen (Michelle), Denise Goguen (Gary), Sue Roy-Elias (Paul), Jason Roy (Stephanie), and John Roy (Cheryl). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Nathalie, Emmy, Nadia, Chloe, Marcus, Connor, Scarlett, Ian, and Kaleb, and a cherished great-granddaughter Madelyn.
She is also survived by her siblings: Benoite LeBlanc (Louis), Gisele Brown (Bill), Carmelle LeBlanc (Robert), and Mauril Léger (Charline).
Ginette was predeceased by her parents, Albenie Léger and Marguerite Lirette; her sisters Annette Doiron (Yvon) and Marielle See (Blaine); and her beautiful angel granddaughter, Stephanie Deveau, who no doubt welcomed her with open arms.
Ginette’s legacy is one of love, generosity, and togetherness. She was the heart of her family; the one who held traditions, stories, and people together. Her presence was a gift, her laughter unforgettable, and her love, something that will carry on through generations.
In Ginette’s memory a donation can be made to the Moncton SPCA (PAW-SBA) or to the donor’s choice.
