Surrounded by the love of his family, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Georges Bourgeois on February 9, 2026, at the age of 73. Born in Grande-Digue, NB, he lived in Shediac River. He was the son of Armand Bourgeois and Rita (Babineau) Bourgeois.

He worked for many years at the University of Moncton, where he was appreciated for his calmness, patience, and professionalism. Georges was a deeply gentle man, always serene, a role model for those around him, and an exceptional father, grandfather, and husband.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 44 years, Bernice (born: Boucher), his two sons, Martin (Chantal) of Shediac and Jocelin (Mélanie) of Fredericton, and his three grandchildren, Zachary, Felix, and Florence, whom he adored and who brought him much happiness.

He is also survived by his four brothers and three sisters: Rachel Gallant (Lucien), Raymond, Claudette Casey (Norman), Marcel (Marie-Louise), all of Grande-Digue, Jean-Guy (Roselind) of Shediac, Michel of Bathurst, Yvette Melanson (Ronald) of Dieppe, a sister-in-law Dorilla of Bathurst, as well as several nephews, nieces, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, his beloved brother Rhéal (Dorilla) preceded him in death in 2017.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the oncology department at The Moncton Hospital for the exceptional care, dedication, and compassion shown during the last months of his life.

Visitation will be held at Passage (3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge) on Friday, February 13, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 2:00 p.m.

Donations in memory of Georges may be made to the Oncology Department at the Moncton Hospital.
