Garnet Darcy Stencill passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on March 19, 2026, at the age of 78.

Born on October 22, 1947, in Massey, Ontario, Garnet was the son of the late Darcy and Alice Priscilla “Chic” Stencill (Charette). He was also predeceased by his sister, Judy Jaekel.

Garnet will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his daughter, Melissa (Christopher Murray),

his son, Brian (Melissa Melanson), and his granddaughter, Ava MacAdam.

An extrovert by nature, Garnet had a deep love for people and music. From a young age, he dreamed of a life surrounded by music, a passion he fulfilled through his career as a radio DJ.

His voice, warmth, and enthusiasm touched many, and his genuine affection for others never went unnoticed.

Garnet was known for his humour, his gentle spirit, and his childlike wonder for the world. A caring father and devoted grandfather, he brought joy, laughter, and comfort to those around him.

He will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the palliative care team at the

Moncton Hospital for their compassion, care, and support.

In keeping with Garnet’s wishes, a private family gathering will be held at a later time.
