Fenna Ella Fern Mouris

June 9, 2025  –  March 4, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our precious daughter, Fenna Ella Fern Mouris who passed away on Wednesday March 4, 2026 at home, in her parents’ loving embrace. Fenna was the beloved daughter of Charles and Darlene (LeBlanc) Mouris. She is lovingly remembered by her grandparents Cornelius and Karen Mouris, and Heather LeBlanc (late Fernard LeBlanc); her aunts and uncles Nicole LeBlanc (Jordie Williston) and Heidi Mouris (Adam Bolton); and her cousin Tyler LeBlanc.

Though her time with us was far too short, our sweet Fenna filled countless lives with immeasurable love and joy. Her presence was powerful, her spirit unmistakable, and her impact everlasting.

Fenna was born on June 9, 2025, at the IWK Health Centre, where she spent her first 156 days. During that time, the NICU team became part of Fenna’s extended family through the extraordinary love, dedication, and care they showed her every single day. Affectionately known as the “Queen of the South,” Fenna was deeply cherished, and many of “Fenna’s girls” continue to follow her journey every step of the way.

Upon returning home, our family was welcomed back to Moncton by an incredible team at the Moncton Pediatric Unit, under the careful, attentive, and compassionate care of Dr. Mahamadou Chaibou.

Fenna loved snuggles, crunches, and her signature starfish dance. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandparents, story time—particularly Little Blue Truck and Rabbit and the Moon—and daily sing-alongs. Her favourites included Old MacDonald with Mom and Dutch nursery rhymes with Dad.

Fenna had a challenging and remarkable health journey which was carefully accounted for and represented with her Bravery Beads. For every procedure, treatment and milestone that Fenna went through, a bead was selected to represent it. The Bravery Beads help to show her incredible story.

After her last hospital visit and her return home, she did better than expected, giving us more time to cherish every second with her. We made the absolute best of every moment – we were able to celebrate her 8 month birthday, have her first walk in the neighbourhood and she had the opportunity to have a few tasty treats. Fenna was always the star of the show.

We cannot say thank you enough to all the many incredible people that helped Fenna from day one especially the IWK NICU, Moncton Pediatric Unit, QRC, IWK PICU, PACT, and Extra-Mural, along with her many friends and family.

Fenna’s journey was one of strength, courage, and love beyond measure. She taught us more in her short life than many do in a lifetime, and she will forever remain our greatest gift.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be celebrated from Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton, NB (506-858-1995) on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Dr. Richard Jackson officiating. Reception to follow.

Memorial donations in Fenna’s memory may be made to the IWK (NICU) or the Moncton Pediatric Unit (Friends of The Moncton Hospital). Online condolences may be shared at:
