Ernest William Farrer

1945 – 2026

It is with both rejoicing and sorrow that his children announce the passing of Ernest “Ernie” William Farrer formerly of Bass River, NB, most recently resided at Ocean Hall, Moncton, NB. He departed this earthly life to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Wednesday May 27, 2026, at the age of 80.

Born in Bass River, NB on December 30, 1945, Ernie was the beloved son of Earle and Mae (Cail) Farrer. He was a devoted member of Bethel Baptist Church for many years. Throughout his life, he exemplified the love of Christ through serving in his local church as Sunday school teacher, youth leader, Junior Church Leader, VBS Director, Trustee, and Deacon.  

Ernie loved spending time with family and had a deep passion for enjoying God’s creation. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, steadfast faith, hard work ethic, unconditional love, and resilience.  Many will fondly remember his twinkling eyes and playful grin.

Ernie leaves behind a legacy of love and faith to be cherished by his surviving family members: Daughter, Beverly Bean (Stuart) of Maine, USA, Son, Ed Farrer (Rhonda) of Fenwick, NS, and Daughter, Amanda Mills (Markus) of Steeves Mountain, NB; his grandchildren: Lynnea Larned (Brandon), Chandler MacKay (Emily), Jeremiah Farrer, and Amelia Farrer; and his sister, Diana MacDonald (George) as well as nephews and nieces, with a special bond shared with his nephew, Rick Farrer (Nicole). 

Besides his parents, Earl and Mae,  Ernie was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rose (Parker); his sister, Joanne Ward; his brothers, John “Jack” Farrer and David Farrer, his sister-in-law, Donna Brownell (Parker) and his brother-in-law, Leon Parker.

His children would like to sincerely thank the nurses and staff at Ocean Hall for the exceptional care, love, and compassion given to Ernie throughout his stay, and especially during his final hours. Your kindness, comfort, and support will never be forgotten.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Fergusons Riverview Community Chapel, 214 Pine Glen Rd., Riverview (506-857-9544), on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 10:00 am with Pastor Jerry Stearns officiating, with reception to follow.

Interment will take place at Stoney Creek Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to 5000 Farms, Bethel Baptist Church, or charity of your choice.
