1951 – 2026
Shediac, NB – Eric Porelle, of Shediac and formerly from Cap-Pelé, New Brunswick, passed away on May 1st, at the age of 75 at la Maison Providence.
Born in Cap-Pelé, he was the son of the late Ernest and Mathilda (Melanson) Porelle.
He leaves behind his loving daughters, Ghisline Duguay and Cézanne Porelle (Paul Léger), and his grandsons, Yannick and Sébastien Duguay; his siblings: Rita Gaudet (Normand), Ernestine Brun (late Alverie), Zelica Landry (Alfred), Edgar Porelle (Alice), Jeannette Cleveland (Todd).
Eric was a dedicated truck driver early on in his career and then moved to Fort MacMurray, Alberta working construction and heavy equipment. He was known for his strong work ethic and the pride he took in his profession. Anyone who knew Eric, knows how he found great joy in trading and buying new cars and trucks.
During his later years, he took pleasure in his daily drive to Pointe-du-Chêne, where he could relax, connect with friends and take in the beauty of the coast. Eric will be remembered for his sense of humor and being a jokester.
Visitation will take place at Salon Passage, 3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge, NB, (506) 532-1050, on Wednesday, May 6th, 2026, from 6 to 8 pm.
Burial will take place in Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila Parish Cemetery, Cap-Pelé, NB, in the spring of 2026.
