1947-2026
Shediac River, NB~ It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Diane Johnson, that occurred on Sunday, May 10th, 2026, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton.
Born in Dieppe, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Joseph Léger and the late Helen (Cormier) Léger.
Family meant everything to Diane.
As a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend, sister-in-law, or even to a stranger, Diane’s heart was always full of love, kindness, and joy. She had a beautiful way of making everyone feel special. Her smile could brighten the darkest day, and if you were feeling down, somehow she always found a way to make things better.
Diane worked hard throughout her life as a seamstress, helping provide for her family with love and pride. She was the kind of woman who would lend a helping hand without ever being asked. She never saw the worst in people — only the good — and she taught those around her to do the same.
She was the loving wife of Emile for nearly 59 years, and together they shared 61 beautiful years side by side. She was a devoted and proud mother to her daughter Joanne, whom she adored with all her heart.
Diane found joy in life’s simple treasures — gardening, flowers, her beloved dogs, and most of all, the people she loved. Her little giggle was contagious, and anyone who heard it could not help but laugh along with her. Her love shined brightly wherever she went.
The truth is, Diane could never say no to anyone. She spoiled people with love, kindness, and generosity. She made everyone feel welcome, valued, and cared for.
The love she gave so freely will live on in all of us forever.
She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Emile Johnson; her daughter, Joanne Babineau (Dale); her sister, Alida Landry (late Aurèle); her grandchildren: Terrah (Charlie), Steven (Jessica) and Ryan (Danica); her great grandchildren: Noah, Aria “Sunshine”, Isaac and Emmett; as well as many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Beside her parents, she was predeceased by her grandson, Robert “Robbie”; as well as her siblings: Janet Gould (late Pete), Raymond Léger (late Barb), Doreen LeBlanc (late Normand), Laurent “Goboy” Léger (late Susan) and Hélène Belliveau (late Paul).
Visitation will take place at Passage, 3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge, NB, (506) 532-1050, on Monday, May 18th, 2026 from 9am to 11am. Followed by the funeral service in the chapel at 11am
