1944~2026
Surrounded by her family, Christena “Chrissie” Marie Joseph (née MacLean) passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026.
Chrissie was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, on March 30, 1944. In April 1964, she married the love of her life, David Joseph, who predeceased her.
Together they moved to Ontario, where they built a life filled with love, family, and adventure.
Throughout her life, Chrissie was defined most by her relationships. She shared a deep, passionate and lasting love with her husband, and showed unwavering support, tenderness, and devotion to her children and grandchildren.
She took great pride in her beautiful extended family.
Chrissie approached life with optimism and greeted everyone — from strangers to lifelong friends — with the same warm smile.
Even in her final days, she continued to share her quick wit, light-hearted sense of humour and her well-known appreciation for food.
Chrissie is forever remembered by her son Bradley, daughter Lynn, and daughter-in-law Sue.
She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Jennifer, Adam, and Ben.
She is remembered with warmth and affection by her siblings, Pat Ballentine, Jeanette Croston, Fred MacLean, and Allan Maclean.
Predeceased by Charlie MacLean, Neil Maclean, John MacLean and Sarah Mombourquette.
She will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews.
She is remembered with deep love by the entire Joseph family, whom she has been a part of for over 60 years. Included in this clan are the many in-laws, nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
A message from Chrissie,” You will see me walking on the beach, feet in the hot sand, my face to the sun and a smile on my lips. Stop and talk to me, know that I am here with you. Love always, Chrissie.”
A mass in her honour will take place at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, 40 Cabot Street. Sydney, N.S. on June 12, 2026 @ 2:00pm.
A donation to the charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
