1935 – 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Audrey Ina Gallagher on April 23, 2026, at the Maison Albert House Hospice. Audrey was born in Moncton, NB, to the late Gordon and Elda (nee Prosser) Hawkes.
Audrey’s career spanned many years, including as co-owner of Mac’s Sports Centre in Riverview. During the last 20 years of her working life she was the executive assistant and office manager of ABSDA. She had many hobbies including square dancing, quilting, knitting, gardening, playing bridge, and watching her Toronto Blue Jays.
Audrey’s main focus was her family. The memory of her quick wit will continue to be a source of joy and laughter to those who knew and loved her. She will be dearly missed by her loving daughters Beverly (Stephen) and Debbie (David), brother Hartley “Junior”, daughter-in-law Kate (Bill), and her four cherished granddaughters Erin, Jacki, Emma, and Charlize. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Audrey was predeceased by her husband Ernest “Mac”, son Ian, and her two brothers Donald and Norman.
Her family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of the Maison Albert House Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
As per Audrey’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation will take place at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road Riverview (506-869-2007).
Donations may be made to the Maison Albert House Hospice or a charity of choice.
