Annie (nee Blakney) (Briggs) Thomas, 86, of Riverview, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Moncton Hospital on Friday, May 29, 2026. Born
in Stoney Creek, NB, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Georgie (nee Steeves) Blakney.
Annie enjoyed spending time with her large, boisterous family and loved being Nana to everyone. She enjoyed card making, playing cards with her cousins,
family and friends, and was a dedicated and faithful member of Mount Royal United Church. She thoroughly enjoyed looking after others and generously
shared whatever she had. Her care for others was reflected in her career choice, as she spent 31 years providing customer service with Sears.
Annie will be sadly missed by her children Laurie Trites, Peter Briggs and Andrea (Al) MacNeill, her step-children Brian (Wanda) Thomas, Terry (Karyn) Thomas,
Michele (Chad) Hargreaves, Yvonne Steeves (Shawn), her grandchildren Linsay (Jamie) Flowers, Leanne (Matt) Horsman, Max MacNeill, Nicole Thomas, Nathan
(Becky) Thomas, Madison, Quentin and Liam Hargreaves, Cameron and Danika Steeves, her great-grandchildren Matt Flowers (Stevie), Tristyn Flowers (Antonin),
Wes Horsman, Ashlynn, Brielle and Lindon Traynor, Emma and Maddy Thomas, Ruairi and Oliver Sterling, and many cousins, nieces and nephews and brother-in-
law, Ken Deware.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Lyle Thomas, sisters Laura (Toppie) Deware, Joy Conway, her brother Mark Blakney, and her
stepson Paul Thomas.
Visitation will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton on Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held
at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 11:00 am, with reception to follow. Interment will be held at Elmwood Cemetery at a later date.
