A private members bill from the NDP is looking to make it easier for families to transfer their family businesses.
Finance and Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency critic Guy Caron is touring all four provinces over the next two weeks, to drum up support for his bill which will be debated this fall.
Caron says currently the law makes it more beneficial to sell your business to a stranger rather than your family.
His bill will grant family members the same rights and privileges as strangers get when trying to transfer their small businesses, family farms, or fishing operations.
Caron hopes his visit will encourage people to put pressure on their MPs to vote in favour of the bill.
