NB Gas Prices Down Overnight

We’re seeing a decrease at the pumps this morning.

The price of regular self serve is down 2.1 cents a litre after an adjustment by the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board overnight.

Senior Petroleum Analyst for Gasbuddy.com Dan McTeague says despite a plunge in oil prices, we’re not seeing a major dip in gas prices, as many would expect.

He says there are a couple of reasons for this. The number of refineries in Canada and the US that have had a hard time getting production levels up and out.
The other reason is demand for gas is also up about 2 to 3 per cent from this time last year.

As expected, diesel prices also dipped by 1.1 cents a litre. Propane increased by half a cent.
