The City of Moncton is investing in a cleaner, greener future thanks to a recent funding boost.
They got almost 84,000 dollars to create a sustainable neighbourhood action plan for the Humphrey’s Brook Secondary Plan area.
It’s a 250 hectare site which is poised for development over the next few years.
Moncton is the fifth fastest growing city in Canada, with a projected population increase of 20,000 over the next 25 years.
The money from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities Green Community Fund will also help create general land use policies and a naturalized approach to stormwater management.
Mayor George LeBlanc says it will help us lead the way in Atlantic Canada with regards to sustainable neighbourhood planning.
