Greater Moncton SPCA Executive Director Plans Retirement

A well known fixture at the Greater Moncton SPCA is retiring.

Executive Director Karen Nelson will leave her role on April 1st.

She says she is healthy and happy. It’s just time to start enjoying some “Me” time, and she’d also like to spend more time in her garden, smelling the roses.

Nelson says she has been lucky enough to have two careers, “My first career was working with children in the school system. I retired as a Prinicipal and came to the SPCA, and looked after four legged fur babies.”

Nelson plans to also do some volunteering, including spending time at the SPCA. The animals are her heart, and she loves it.

Nelson spent the last four and a half years at the SPCA. The search is currently on to find her replacement.
