Ferry service from Grand Manan to Blacks Harbour is back to normal with the Grand Manan Adventure back in service with a new turbocharger from Virginia. Just what’s causing the intermittent breakdowns is under review.
Grand Manan Mayor Dennis Green says there may be an issue with the fuel but that will be looked at.
Green says the province pays for the fuel and when they cut down on the fuel, it seems to cause more repairs to be done which are paid for by Coastal Transport.
The review will also look at the engines and the maintenance of the ferry.
Green says the Grand Manan V just can’t handle the additional traffic in the summer during the height of the tourist season.
