Energy East Pipeline In Difficulty In Ontario And Quebec

The proposed Energy East pipeline appears to be running into difficulty in both Ontario and Quebec. A report from the Ontario Energy Board concludes the economic impact for that province will be minimal and there are still safety concerns.

Premier Brian Gallant claims it will be better for the environment and also create jobs but Interim Provincial Conservative leader Bruce Fitch says the Premier’s message appears to be falling on deaf ears.

Fitch claims since the Liberals won the provincial election last September, there has been a reduction of 66 hundred jobs in the province.

The Premier will be in town tomorrow to speak to the Regional Chamber of Commerce.
