A Riverview girl has completed a swim across the Northumberland Strait from Cape Jourimain to Borden-Carleton, P.E.I. and she and her family hope it will become a Guinness World Record.
It took roughly four hours for 12-year-old Brooklyn Douthwright to complete the 15 kilometre swim across the Strait on Sunday.
Douthwright’s parents are now going to submit an application to the Guinness organization for the record as the youngest person to swim across the Northumberland Strait.
About 50 other swimmers also took part in the so-called Big Swim which was a fundraiser for the Brigadoon Village camp for special needs children in Nova Scotia.
