Election results were delayed for hours during the 2014 provincial vote in New Brunswick.
But the chief electoral officer says the software behind the snafu has since been changed and any problems should be eliminated.
Elections NB’s Kim Poffenroth says the technology has already been tested numerous times.
“With the new technology, I believe we have run – between the 2016 municipal elections and numerous byelections – at least 11 elections and everything has run smoothly with no issues with the transmittal,” she notes.
If any issues do arise, Poffenroth adds the results will go through a verification protocol before being published on the Elections NB website.
