Moncton Wildcats Hold First Practice At Avenir Centre

It’s the first time on the ice at the new centre for the Moncton Wildcats today. They’re getting a feel for what it’ll be like to play in their new home.

The Director of Business Operations says there is still much work to do though before their homeopener on the 28th.

Ryan Jenner says it’s an exciting day for the team..who have been anxiously waiting to get the chance to play at the Avenir Centre.

“We’re just putting the finishing touches on our locker rooms. The players are extremely excited and looking forward about playing in a facility of NHL calibre and they can’t wait for next Friday,” Jenner says.

If you were hoping to attend the homeopener, there are still tickets left.

“We’re under 800 tickets left for opening game against the Saint John Sea Dogs. There are still great tickets available for the game on Sunday, September 30th against Halifax. Season tickets are up and we’re excited for the season that is coming. We will be playing to our biggest home crowd ever, so a new record will be set for the team,” Jenner says.

He was pretty tight lipped about their pre-game plans on the 28th.

All Jenner would reveal is that there will be entertainment in the plaza prior to the game, and the rest, the fans will just have to wait and see..
