Dole Recalls Baby Spinach Packages Due To Possible Listeria Contamination

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning the public about another recall due to concerns over listeria.

Dole Fresh Vegetables is recalling their brand of Baby Spinach with Tender Reds in 142 gram packages.

The best before date is 18-AU-04, while the UPC code is 0 71430 06069 8.

Food contaminated with listeria may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick.

Pregnant women, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.

The CFIA cautions that although pregnant women may experience on mild, flu like symptoms, the infection can lead to premature delivery, infection of the newborn, or even stillbirth.

In severe cases of illness, people may die.

The recall was triggered by CFIA test results, but no illnesses have been reported in connection with the baby spinach.
