Water System Upgrades In Riverside-Albert

All three levels of government have provided funding to upgrade the municipal water system in Riverside-Albert.

With an investment of $24,000, two sampling stations have been installed to monitor water quality.

Riverside-Albert mayor Jim Campbell says the village was able to install new water lines and laterals.

Campbell adds the replacement of aging lines has resulted in a large reduction of water consumption due to leakage from old lines.

The provincial government invested up to $5,000 and the federal government contributed up to $11,000.

The Village of Riverside-Albert provided the balance of funding.
