Blue Green Algae Leads To Suspension Of Recreational Activities In Centennial Park Pond

The City of Moncton has put a precautionary advisory in place at Centennial Park due to blue green algae in the pond there.

The water is off limits to recreation including kayaking and canoeing, because of the hot weather which has permitted the growth of the algae.

Dog owners are being warned as well to keep their dogs out of the water, and not let them drink or swim in the water at this time.

The City of Moncton will update the situation as conditions change.
