The Gallant Liberal government is not pleased with the carbon tax plan being imposed on it by its federal counterpart.
The new plan will see consumer hits with a 4 cents gas tax increase per litre starting April 2019 and larger industries hit with 20 dollars per tonne of emissions in January.
Environment Minister Andrew Harvey says they will fight this plan.

“We are still the government, we still stand up for New Brunswickers and we will, consumers in New Brunswick can’t afford to pay any more, stated Harvey. Harvey says New Brunswickers have done enough through their taxes and should not have to deal with any more financial hardships.
Progressive Conservative leader Blaine Higgs says if his party gets to form the government it will join with the other provinces opposed to the federal carbon tax by taking the Trudeau government to court.

” As a united front we will oppose a carbon tax of any kind,” says Higgs.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he knows where Canadians stand on climate change and now it’s up to politicians if they want to actually listen.
