The Greater Moncton Chamber of Commerce says some amazing projects now underway have led to tremendous growth in the region this year.
In addition to lots of private investment, CEO Carol O’Reilly says there has been significant government investment too such as funding upgrades to the Trans Aqua wastewater treatment plant and the full restoration of the Petitcodiac River.
O’Reilly says the tri-communities recorded their biggest building permit numbers ever in 2016.
“Dieppe has new hotels, offices, a skating oval and apartments while Riverview just opened its new operations centre. So there are great things going on in our community,” she notes.
In Moncton, O’Reilly cites the downtown centre, the Junction Urban Village development and the 5-5 Queen mixed-use complex as examples of great projects coming to light in the next few years.
