A long awaited project to upgrade the TransAqua Wastewater Treatment Facility is going ahead thanks to federal and provincial funding.
Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe MP Ginette Petitpas-Taylor and Minister Roger Melanson each announced contributions of $22.6 million to the project which accounts for half the total cost.
“TransAqua Commission [is] partnering with us to be able to modernize this infrastructure that will see a secondary treatment level at this facility, and we’ll see where the water will be clean and it’s all part of the restoration of the Petitcodiac River,” says Melanson.
