Rio Olympic Games Likely To Provide A Boost In Sales For Restaurants And Bars

Bars and restaurants in Canada are likely to enjoy to a spike in sales during the upcoming Olympic Games in Rio.

A report by Moneris predicts a 15% spike in spending, as Canadians watch the 1,275 hours of Olympic TV coverage planned for the Games.

Moneris says a survey showed 28% of viewers planned to watch from a bar or restaurant.

During the last summer Games in 2012, Canadians watched 662,000,000 hours of coverage, averaging out to 21 hours per Canadian.

The Games in Rio start August 5th, and run until August 21st.
