Tourism is likely to get a boost in Southeast New Brunswick with a big family reunion starting later this week.
Descendants of the original Steeves family will be coming to mark the 250th anniversary of their arrival in the region.
Event chair Bobbie Steeves says both Moncton and Hillsborough will be welcoming thousands who will attend the reunion and visit other area attractions.
“So it’s wonderful for them, for the community and just for the province in general, just bringing attention to it,” she notes.
Entertainment for the whole family is planned.
Early registration for Steeves 250 will be held at the Legion building in Hillsborough starting on Thursday.
