City Committee To Examine Booting In Downtown Moncton

The booting of vehicles parked in private parking lots – and the subsequent steep fee to release the boot – has been a bone of contention in downtown Moncton for a few years now.

Moncton City Council wants to take a closer look and has decided to set up a committee to examine the controversial issue.

Councillors Bryan Butler and Greg Turner will lead the committee which will bring recommendations to city council by this fall.

The committee is expected to meet with private parking lot owners as well as downtown businesses in an effort to come up with ways to deal with booting.
